The problem:

There are around 65 million people in the UK and about 1o million of those (1 in 6 people) suffer from anxieties, fears, phobias, a lack of confidence or sleep problems at some point in their life. Figures show that unfortunately this number is rising year on year.

How can I help?

I work with individuals and couples on a 1:1 basis to help reduce and sometimes eliminate those fears, phobias, anxieties, build their confidence or help with sleep issues.

How do I do this?

The way I do this is through writing personalised meditation and relaxation scripts. By tailoring scripts to the individual they are more likely to over come the issues they are suffering from and be successful in gaining the outcome they desire. Everyone is different and sometimes just having an initial consultation can bring up problems which in fact are causing the issues the individual is suffering from.

What are the benefits of meditation and relaxation scripts?

There are two parts to our brains the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.

The conscious mind is the part that is awake and aware of our surroundings. It’s the part of the brain that we use to think and this is the part that alerts us to our worries, fears and anxieties.

The subconscious mind is the part of the brain which records, registers and remembers information and then uses it to influence our behaviour, feelings and actions without us often realising. So if you hear over and over again that something is dangerous e.g. a spider then the chances are you will become scared and fearful of that spider causing us to run away everytime you see one. If a women hears over and over again that labour and birth is painful then her brain will retain that information until such a time as that woman starts thinking of or becomes pregnant. This fear then kicks in and some women suffer from Tokophoia (a fear of getting pregnant, labour and birth) because of the information and stories they have heard in the past.

Personalised Scripts: 

So after I have met with the individual (or couple) I write the script/s they need to use to help address the issues they are having. The scripts work by retraining the subconscious mind to believe what it is being told at this present moment. By allowing yourself time to relax and switch off the conscious mind,  the subconscious mind takes over and the positive personalised statements used within the scripts are spoken directly to the subconscious mind allowing it to change its way of thinking.

The Program:

1)I always insist on a Free 15 minute phone call.

This is to establish if I am the best person to help you and for me to try and discover what the issues are you would like addressing. (If after the consultation I feel I can not help, I will be totally honest and try to point you in the direction of someone whom I think will be able to help).

2) The face to face consultation (roughly this lasts around 60-90minutes).

In this time we will talk further (and in more depth) about the issues you are having. We discuss when the issues started and what impact it is having on you life.

I then ask what the desired outcomes are you want to achieve at the end of the program. I talk through what I feel we need to do and how many sessions I think it will take.

It’s worth noting that people who currently meditate usually respond more quickly to positive suggestions than those who do not. However this doesn’t mean that it won’t work. What it does mean is that I work with you and teach you how to learn and discover meditation. I generally do this by giving you a beginners script (which is still personalised) and I talk you through it. I then ask you to go off and practise the script for around 2-3 weeks so that they are fully able to meditate.

3) I then put together a plan of sessions. I will let you know how many sessions you need and what we will cover in each session. I usually suggest around 3-6 sessions but can increase and decrease sessions depending on the client.

Meditation misconceptions:

During meditation you will be in a deep state of relaxation. At any point you can bring your full consciousness back to the room. Meditation is not the same as stage hypnosis – I can not make you cluck like a chicken or run around the room barking like a dog! Meditation is a wonderful way of relaxing and when needed people use meditation to retrain their brains with positive thoughts.
