The program is designed to help women have a relaxed, calm and positive birthing experience by using visualisation, relaxation and breathing techniques. The methods taught also help to release tension, anxiety and fear which may build in the run up to birth.

Hypnobirthing teaches parents the strategies to relax during labour and childbirth and allows the mother to work with her body to give birth to her beautiful baby, after all a woman’s body is naturally designed to give birth.
It also teaches parents how to breath in a relaxing way, which will guide their baby down during labour and help to deliver their baby calmly. Hypnobirthing often brings couples/families closer together and this bond is so important not only during pregnancy and labour but also after childbirth. By practising the Hypnobirthing techniques everyday you are preparing your body and mind to have the best possible birth for you and your baby.
It is a well known fact that if you are scared or worried your body will naturally go into a flight-fight-freeze mode causing adrenaline to be released into the blood stream. Adrenaline reduces the blood flow to the womb causing the muscles in the womb to become less efficient. This then results in the labour becoming longer, harder and often painful. Plus the reduced blood flow to the womb means the baby is getting less oxygen. Hypnobirthing is NOTa method of pain relief but is instead a tool, which if practiced daily up until the birth of the baby, can help a mother to relax, feel calm and keep her oxytocin levels raised. This in turn will help reduce or even eliminate the feeling of pain during labour and birth and will allow the baby to be born calmly.
